Why we built Bripes

We ran a productized design agency for four years. We scaled it past a million in total revenue, managed hundreds of tickets a day, and eventually exited. We built Bripes because nothing we used was built by someone who had actually done that.

The problem

The skeleton of Bripes existed in 2022. We were already using a client portal tool — Service Provider Pro at the time — and it was fine until the volume hit. At scale, fine is not enough.

Clients missed notifications and went quiet. Invoices got lost between tools. Work orders lived in one system, payments in another, files somewhere else entirely. Every process that worked at five clients broke somewhere between twenty and fifty. We kept patching it.

In November 2024, while building Sharebrand, we made the decision to build Bripes properly. We stopped waiting for an existing tool to solve problems it was never designed to understand. We pulled four years of hard operational experience — the workflows that held, the ones that collapsed, the clients who churned and the clients who stayed — into a single product.

The real problems we kept running into

Clients fell through the cracks. At volume, notification failures are not edge cases. A client misses an update. A delivery sits unread. They do not know what to look at. You follow up. It erodes the relationship slowly and then all at once.

Work and money did not talk to each other. Invoicing was disconnected from delivery. You completed a work order, then opened a different tool to send an invoice, then followed up manually, then reconciled at month end. Every step was manual and every step was an opportunity to miss something.

Checkout was an afterthought. Most client portal tools treat the purchase flow as a form. It is not. It is the moment a prospect decides to become a client. A bad checkout experience costs you sales you never know you lost.

Reselling was impossible. If you wanted another agency to sell your services under their name, there was no clean way to do it. You either handled it manually or turned away the business.

Compliance had no home. Approvals, sign-offs, change requests, delivery confirmations — all of it scattered across email threads and chat. When a dispute came up, there was nothing to point to.

Policies existed only in your head. Agency owners know their terms. Clients often do not. Enforcing them consistently, at scale, without friction, was not something any tool helped with.

These are not software problems. They are operational problems. The tools that exist were built by people who read about agencies, not people who ran them.

What we built and what makes it different

Checkout built to convert. The service store in Bripes is not a list of offerings behind a form. It is a full storefront — structured like a mini-Fiverr — designed to surface your services clearly, present pricing without friction, and move a prospect to a purchase.

Private mode. Your team is invisible to clients. They see your agency, your name, your brand. No staff profiles, no contractor names, no internal structure exposed. This is operational hygiene.

Policy management and enforcement. Write your terms once. Apply them to every engagement. Clients acknowledge them as part of the onboarding flow. When a dispute comes up, the record exists.

Audit trail on everything. Every approval, every delivery confirmation, every status change is logged with a timestamp and the person who triggered it. Proof of delivery is not a screenshot — it is a structured record.

Reseller program that actually works. Your Agency plan includes 20 sub-agency slots. Another agency sells your services under their own name. You fulfill. They bring their own clients into their own workspace inside yours. No separate subscriptions. No external accounts to manage. Native.

Sharebrand and Kontrable included. Branded file delivery and contractor management come with every Bripes plan. Not as integrations. Not as add-ons. Included.

Where we are now

We started building Bripes seriously in November 2024. The product is live. The agency we exited — one of the heaviest users — is still running on it daily. That is not a marketing claim. It is the most honest signal we know: a product in production use, under real conditions, after the founders have moved on.

We are onboarding productized agencies, design subscriptions, content teams, and any service business delivering work to clients at volume. We are part of the Tarkle family, which gives us the infrastructure and resources to ship features quickly.

If you have outgrown the tools that were built by people who never ran what you run, Bripes is built for exactly your situation.
